Installing Cortona VRML Client

To install the plug-in, simply copy it to a preferred folder. There are only a few places where Web browsers look for plug-ins, so you have these options:

~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins - the Internet Plug-Ins folder of the Library folder of your home folder. Copy the plug-in here if you want to install it for your personal use only or if you do not have administrative privileges.

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins - the Internet Plug-Ins folder of the Library folder of your system disk. If installed here the plug-in will be accessible to everyone using your computer. You will need administrative privileges for copying files to this location.

Power users may prefer to keep the plug-in elsewhere and instead create its Finder alias in one of the indicated locations. This will be fine for most browsers, the only exception being OmniWeb 4.1.

You should also note that to prevent the possible mishandling of VRML documents (technically, their MIME types), the Cortona Plug-in should be the only VRML plug-in residing in the locations specified above. You should remove any older versions of the Cortona Plug-in.

With the plug-in in place, start up your Web browser (or relaunch it if it is running) and enjoy your new window in the 3D world. A good starting point is http://www.MacWeb3D.org/

Run cortvrml_ppc program.
